Home School Agreement
We the adults responsible for children at home and at school want St Nicholas Church of England Primary School to provide a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment in which each child is treated as an individual and the needs of all are considered. We will encourage children to work hard, to behave appropriately and to take pride and pleasure in their own and others' achievements. We look forward to working together on a basis of mutual respect to help our children become confident and enthusiastic learners. |

Homework |
|
THE SCHOOL WILL: set appropriate homework regularly and ensure that it is marked.

I INTEND: to help my child return homework on time; to help my child find a quiet place and time to do homework; to ensure school property is looked after when at home; to read to and with my child frequently.

Behaviour |
|
THE SCHOOL WILL: make sure children are familiar with school rules; use rewards and sanctions fairly; make sure that school staff always set a high standard of personal behaviour; respect the views of children and parents, acknowledging the different circumstances that exist.

I INTEND: to help my child understand and follow the school rules; to encourage my child to care for school property both at school and at home; to behave in a way that sets children a good example when I am on school premises.

Attendance and Punctuality |

THE SCHOOL WILL: start classes promptly at 9.00; maintain an accurate record of attendance.

I INTEND: to make sure that my child is at school regularly and on time; to make sure that my child is collected on time; to contact the school promptly when my child is absent;

Equal Opportunities |

THE SCHOOL WILL: try to enable all children to take part in all activities; celebrate the diverse backgrounds that we come from; use different cultural examples in teaching; ensure that bullying and racist, sexist and other discriminating behaviour is not tolerated.

I INTEND: to help my child understand that everyone is of equal importance; to encourage my child to appreciate and respect the views and religions of others.

Curriculum |

THE SCHOOL WILL: ensure that every child is taught at an appropriate and challenging level by qualified teachers; maintain an attractive environment with good materials and equipment and teach the full National Curriculum and religious education. |
I INTEND: to encourage my child to participate fully in school activities; to support my child's learning at school by attending parents' meetings and performances; to provide my child with suitable clothing for school activities.

Welfare and Communication |

THE SCHOOL WILL: ensure that children are safe on school premises and on school trips; administer medicines only with written permission give full and clear information about the curriculum, and each child's progress, standard achieved and development needs; communicate frequently with parents about school matters and set dates for events early and inform parents.

I INTEND: to make sure the school always has an up-to-date emergency contact number; to keep my child at home when unwell; to raise any concerns with the appropriate person as early as possible; to let the school know of issues that may affect my child's welfare or progress at school to teach my child about personal hygiene. |
All our Children are Special... I am important and so are you. Be kind to each other in all that we do. Listen when someone else is talking. Be careful how you speak and behave towards others. Respect your own and others' property. Behave in a safe way. Let the teacher teach and the children learn. Let's take care of our school.
